Amelia Burns is an Associate in the Disputes group at Herbert Smith Freehills (London).

Amelia began her career as a Solicitor in our Sydney Office. Her practice is in general commercial dispute resolution, with a particular focus on regulatory investigation and enforcement, as well as ESG litigation.

Amelia has worked for major UK and Australian listed companies in commercial litigation, including investigations and trials on complex commercial and regulatory matters.

Background

Amelia holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney and was valedictorian of her graduating class. Amelia also holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney.

Amelia co-authored a chapter in Bootmakers, Board and Rogues (2023) on market misconduct in Australia with Andrew Eastwood (Partner, Herbert Smith Freehills, Sydney).
