Alison specialises in the resolution of construction disputes on major projects.

Alison has 18 years’ experience working with industry participants to resolve complex claims in the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors.

Alison’s experience includes advising in relation to claims management and dispute avoidance strategies during the delivery of some of Australia’s largest projects. Alison has practiced extensively in Supreme Court litigation, arbitration (both domestic and international), expert determination, mediation and adjudication processes.

Background

Alison holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons) from the Queensland University of Technology. She is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria and in New York.

  • international contractor in an arbitration involving claims exceeding $600 m concerning alleged breaches of fitness for purpose warranties in the fabrication of modules for a major energy and resources project
  • principal involved in the development of an iron ore mine, in the successful defence of an $82 million Security of Payment adjudication claim involving complex jurisdictional arguments
