Ian Gault
Ian specialises in all aspects of pensions law and brings more than 30 years' experience to assist his clients when advising on the pensions aspects of major transactions.
Ian formerly headed the pensions group at HSF before retiring as a partner, and continues to support the group as a consultant. He specialises in all aspects of pensions law and brings more than 40 years' experience when advising clients. Ian is one of four pension lawyers in the country ranked as a Senior Statesmen by Chambers UK 2020.
Ian continues to be involved in advising clients on a wide variety of complex issues affecting their pension schemes, including funding and valuation issues and disputes. He is a particular expert on issues of pension scheme governance and has contributed to a book on this subject.
He plays an active role in a number of pensions industry organisations. He is a member of the Council of the Society of Pensions Consultants and of the executive committee of the Pensions Research Accountants Group. He is also a trustee of a Master Trust.
