Jan is a professional support lawyer (PSL) in the firm's commercial disputes practice.

Jan provides technical advice to clients and colleagues on substantive law and court procedure in respect of complex commercial litigation.  Her background includes over 15 years as a commercial disputes practitioner in both Australia (where she qualified) and the UK.  Her particular areas of interest include civil fraud and asset tracing, contract law, mediation and other 'alternative' forms of dispute resolution, legal privilege, and data protection in disputes.

She edits the firm's 'ADR Notes' blog and its 'Civil Fraud and Asset Tracing Notes' blog, and is a regular contributor to the 'Litigation Notes' blog.   She is also co-author of the UK chapter of  "Mediation Law in the EU" (Wolters Kluwer).

Jan also has a particular interest in pro bono work.  She spent nearly two years in the firm's Pro Bono Team in 2020/2021, managing the firm's wide range of pro bono projects including our weekly legal advice clinics.  She has personally acted on a variety of pro bono matters, including one of the firm's longstanding projects representing death row inmates in the Caribbean - which has secured a number of important victories including a landmark Privy Council ruling.
