Jacky is a Foreign Lawyer in our dispute resolution practice based in Frankfurt am Main.

Jacky specialises in complex cross-border dispute resolution. His practice focuses on investor-state arbitration, treaty protection and commercial arbitration in the Europe and Asia regions.

Jacky is experienced in energy, infrastructure and technology disputes. He has acted and advised both investors and states in bilateral investment treaty disputes and in enforcement proceedings. Jacky also acts for clients in a wide range of international arbitrations, including recent work conducted under the ICC, HKIAC, SCAI and CIETAC Rules.

Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Jacky worked in the disputes teams of other international law firms and with the Federal Court of Australia. He is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales, the DIS-40, ICDR Young & International and the ACICA 45.


Jacky holds an LL.M. from Humboldt University of Berlin (sehr gut). He obtained his LLB and his Bachelor of Commerce from UNSW Sydney, Australia. Jacky also spent a semester abroad studying at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

He is admitted as a solicitor in Australia and speaks English and Cantonese.
