Yael Sneider
Yael is a Senior Associate in the firm's dispute resolution team.
Yael specialises in commercial dispute resolution with a particular focus on financial services disputes.
Yael assists banking sector clients with largescale litigation matters and has experience advising financial institutions on a wide range of contentious matters. Yael has a focus on securities class action litigation and acted on one of the largest financial cases, and the first securities class action, to reach trial in the English Courts.
Background
Yael holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of the Witwatersrand and qualified as a lawyer in South Africa in 2014. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Business Administration) from Wits Business School.
Yael qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2022.

- Goldman Sachs; successfully defending a US$1.2 billion claim brought by the Libyan Investment Authority in relation to a series of leveraged derivatives transactions in early 2008
- Lloyds Banking Group and its former directors; successfully defending a shareholder claim (under a group litigation order) arising from the acquisition of HBOS at the height of the financial crisis in 2008
- a large international bank in relation to the successful settlement of €130 million claim involving allegations of bribery and transactions outside of capacity
