Yael is a Senior Associate in the firm's dispute resolution team.

Yael specialises in commercial dispute resolution with a particular focus on financial services disputes.

Yael assists banking sector clients with largescale litigation matters and has experience advising financial institutions on a wide range of contentious matters. Yael has a focus on securities class action litigation and acted on one of the largest financial cases, and the first securities class action, to reach trial in the English Courts.


Yael holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of the Witwatersrand and qualified as a lawyer in South Africa in 2014. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Business Administration) from Wits Business School.

Yael qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2022.

  • Goldman Sachs; successfully defending a US$1.2 billion claim brought by the Libyan Investment Authority in relation to a series of leveraged derivatives transactions in early 2008
  • Lloyds Banking Group and its former directors; successfully defending a shareholder claim (under a group litigation order) arising from the acquisition of HBOS at the height of the financial crisis in 2008
  • a large international bank in relation to the successful settlement of €130 million claim involving allegations of bribery and transactions outside of capacity
