Weili advises clients in the TMT sector, particularly on data protection and intellectual property issues. He has experience advising clients on foreign direct investments in China and trans-border merger and acquisition transactions. Weili also has extensive in-house experience in the TMT sector.

- a foreign media company's acquisition of a print media asset in China, including the impacts of Chinese media regulations and M&A rules
- a Chinese company's compliance with GDPR requirements, including the responsibilities of a data processor under GDPR
- a foreign investment company's compliance in China, including data regulations and liabilities of data breach under PRC law
Weili graduated with a bachelor's degree in law from Wuhan University School of Law, China. He gained his master's degree in law from Peking University Law School, China and from Stanford Law School, US. He was admitted as an attorney in the State of New York and passed the PRC Bar exam. Weili is fluent in English and Mandarin.
