Sarah is a senior commercial litigator specialising in regulatory enforcement and financial services.

Sarah has expertise in regulatory investigations and enforcement, with deep experience in the financial services industry. She has experience advising clients on corporate criminal proceedings, civil proceedings, regulatory investigations, internal investigations and parliamentary inquiries.

Most recently, Sarah spent seven years as a Senior Counsel at Deutsche Bank AG in Australia, where she was responsible for advising on litigation and regulatory enforcement matters, including Deutsche Bank’s defence of landmark criminal cartel proceedings by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in the Federal Court of Australia. During this time, Sarah gained unique insights into the client perspective which she brings to her current practice at Herbert Smith Freehills.

Background

Sarah has a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Communication majoring in Public Relations from the University of Newcastle.

She was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia in December 2010.
