Sangheetaa is a member of the corporate team in Kuala Lumpur specialising in mergers and acquisitions.



Sangheetaa's portfolio includes public and private mergers and acquisitions, cross border transactions, advising on foreign direct investments into Malaysia, incorporations, regulatory applications, joint ventures, shareholders arrangements and strategic governmental consultancy. Some of the significant transactions that Sangheetaa has been involved in include the acquisition or disposal of shares of multinational corporations, business and/or assets of manufacturing companies, retail and consumer companies, port operating companies, pharmaceutical companies and e-commerce businesses.
She is also experienced in the setting up of oil and gas related joint venture companies in Malaysia and regularly liaises with Malaysian regulatory authorities in relation to applications for regulatory approvals and licences.
Sangheetaa's experience includes advising:
  • Grab's acquisition of the Fave Group, in particular Fave Asia Sdn. Bhd. and Fave Asia Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Groupon)
  • Japan Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. in relation to the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Spicers Paper (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and Spicers Paper (Singapore) Pte Limited (which is owned by Paper Associates Pty Limited, which is in turn owned by Spicers Limited, a company listed on the Australian Securities.





Sangheetaa graduated with a first class honours from University of Leeds, UK in 2010 and obtained her Master of Law (LLM) majoring in corporate law at University of Cambridge in 2012. She was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales (Lincoln's Inn) in 2011 and later, to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of Malaya in 2014. From 2014 to May 2018, Sangheetaa was practising in an award winning, Tier 1 law firm with one of the largest corporate-focused practices in Malaysia.

Sangheetaa speaks fluent English, Malay, Tamil and has limited working proficiency in French language.
