Bob helps both UK and international clients implement M&A and other transactions across the globe. 

Bob's experience includes recommended and hostile public company takeovers, private company acquisitions and disposals and joint ventures, distressed M&A, demergers, innovative returns of value to shareholders and listed company regulation and compliance.

Bob's experience includes advising:

  • Virgin Atlantic (the international airline)
    • on its takeover of Flybe through the Connect Airways' consortium and separate acquisition of its operating subsidiaries and related EU derogation
    • on its proposed joint venture with Delta and AFKLM and the acquisition of a 31% shareholding in Virgin Atlantic by AFKLM
    • on the sale of 49% to Delta and related joint venture
    • on its ground breaking LHR slots securitisation
  • Severn Trent (the FTSE100 water company)
    • on its contested and ground-breaking takeover bid for Dee Valley Group
    • on its successful defence of a possible takeover offer from a Borealis led consortium
    • on its joint venture with United Utilities to combine their non-household water and wastewater retail businesses
    • on the disposal of its water purification and water services businesses
  • Lonmin on its recommended all share takeover by Sibanye-Stillwater
  • Elementis on its acquisition of Mondo Minerals
  • Kin+Carta on various disposals of non-core businesses
  • Kier on its acquisition of McNicholas Construction Services
  • Cipla on several manufacturing joint ventures across EMEA
  • Stagecoach on the disposal of its Megabus platform business in mainland Europe
  • Ernst & Young (as administrators of Nortel’s  EMEA entities) on the Chapter 11 bankruptcy sale of Nortel’s residual patents to the Rockstar consortium led by Apple, Microsoft, RIM, Sony and Ericsson
