Senior Associate

Rob is a Senior Associate in New York specializing in International Arbitration, Dispute Resolution, and Investigations.



Rob has successfully represented corporate and sovereign clients in international arbitrations, regulatory inquiries, and complex civil litigations, including consumer protection and antitrust class actions, executive employment and corporate governance disputes, and construction arbitrations. He has also conducted investigations and advised clients in connection with regulatory inquiries before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the U.S. Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, particularly in the areas of anticorruption and competition law.
Rob has acted as counsel in cases involving various sectors, including commodities trading, production, and logistics, as well as construction, telecommunications, hospitality, information technology, mining, and cybersecurity. He has experience with disputes seated in the United States, Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South America, and Africa, and has represented clients in arbitrations conducted under the ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, LCIA, and ICDR-AAA rules.
Rob has also presented Continuing Legal Education seminars to other practicing attorneys on cybersecurity issues, hacking, and the protection of electronic documents and data. Prior to joining the firm, Rob was a Senior Associate in the International Arbitration and Litigation groups of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP in New York.
Rob's experience includes advising:
  • a multinational mining company in two ICDR-AAA arbitrations concerning disputes with a South American commodities logistics joint venture
  • a global technology company in connection with U.S. Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission anticorruption investigations
  • a worldwide luxury hotel company in an ICC arbitration arising out of a contract dispute in the Middle East
  • a sovereign nation and its related oil interests in two ICC arbitrations against a construction conglomerate, where claimed damages exceeded €1 billion*
  • an international commodities producer in four multi-year internal investigations and two AAA commercial arbitrations concerning executive compensation and corporate governance matters*
  • an intergovernmental organization in two UNCITRAL arbitrations against multinational construction companies*
  • a global commodities trading company in connection with several multibillion-dollar multidistrict consumer protection and antitrust class actions*

Rob received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin, Phi Beta Kappa, with Highest Honors. During law school, he was elected Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Negotiation Law Review, worked with the Litigation Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General, and was a winner of the GRAMMY Foundation's Entertainment Law Initiative Legal Writing Competition.
