Rebecca specialises in litigation and dispute resolution and has a particular interest in large construction, infrastructure and mining disputes.
Rebecca has acted in a range of matters for premium and international clients across the mining, construction and infrastructure sectors, including principals, contractors and the regulators of the construction industry.
She has gained extensive industry knowledge, and specialises in providing clients with strategic, commercial advice for dispute management. She is experienced in alternative dispute resolution, and has an understanding of the alternative processes available to clients involved in complex litigation.
Rebecca has acted for clients in a range of disputes, including matters arising out of Security of Payment legislation, disputes involving claims for defective and incomplete work, matters involving complex delay and disruption issues and administrative reviews of decisions made by the regulators of the construction industry.
She has acted in major disputes across jurisdictions and forums, having been involved in superior court litigation in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia, as well as international arbitration.
Experience & expertise
- acting for a contractor in an international arbitration in relation to the construction of an iron ore mine and the associated rail and port infrastructure on a $10 billion project
- acting for a Malaysian-Australian joint venture contractor in a $388 million dispute in relation to the construction of a coal export terminal
- acting for a principal in a dispute in negligence and breach of contract with 16 counterparties, in relation to defective construction of a coal handling facility on a $3.3 billion project
- acting for both claimants and respondents in claims made under Security of Payment legislation
