Experience
Olga has experience acting for corporates and financial institutions in international disputes under various arbitration rules such as LCIA, SIAC and ICSID.
Olga's experience includes advising:
- Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) in an ICSID arbitration relating to a power station in Tanzania
- a Russian bank in an LCIA arbitration relating to an English law governed share and purchase agreement on a sale of shares in a Ukrainian subsidiary, including defending emergency arbitration proceedings commenced by the counterparties under the LCIA rules
- an Indonesian company in a SIAC arbitration concerning a contract to develop a coal mine in Indonesia, including defending a joinder application under the SIAC rules
Background
Olga holds a Bachelor of Laws (with honours) and a Master of Laws (with honours) from MGIMO University (Moscow, Russia) with a focus on international Law and international financial Law, and an LLM from the University of Cambridge, with a focus on international investment law and international commercial litigation. Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Olga worked as a lawyer in Russia specialising in commercial law. Olga speaks English and Russian.
