Michael Themis


Michael is a solicitor in the Australian Environment, Planning and Communities team.



Michael is an environment and planning lawyer with a distinct cross-industry and government perspective.
Michael has extensive advisory and practical industry experience across the planning framework. He has advised both private entities and regulatory authorities on an array of development and infrastructure projects, from junior mining projects to State significant wind and solar farm developments. 
He assists with advice to clients on complex environment and planning matters, including:
  • development control and approvals
  • strategic and project based environmental assessment
  • waste and contamination liability
  • environmental incident response
  • crisis management
Michael’s work also includes assisting with specialist litigation in compulsory acquisition and valuation disputes. 


Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce (2012) and a Bachelor of Laws (2013) from Macquarie University. He is also undertaking a Master of Laws at the University of Sydney. Michael is admitted to practise in New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
