Matthew is skilled at providing guidance and assistance to clients involved in a dispute or investigation. His clients have previously included investment and retail banks, large resources and engineering firms, health services providers, and gaming and entertainment organisations. Matthew is dedicated to providing clients with practical and commercially viable advice and solutions throughout the lifecycle of a dispute or investigation.
Matthew has particular experience advising clients involved in investigations or inquiries, having assisted numerous clients in relation to ASIC, APRA, royal commissions, and other regulatory investigations or inquiries. Matthew has also acted for clients involved in tax disputes, class actions, arbitrations, and has provided advice and assistance in relation to significant commercial transactions.
Matthew is an affiliate member of the Governance Institute of Australia, and a Member of the Business Law Section and Federal Litigation and Dispute Resolution Section of the Law Council of Australia.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Sydney and a Juris Doctor (Honours) from the University of New South Wales. Matthew was admitted in February 2015 as an Australian lawyer, and maintains an unrestricted NSW practising certificate. During his studies, Matthew won prizes for achieving the highest score in numerous courses, including restitution law and remedies law. Matthew is also passionate about corporate law and corporate governance policy and practice, having previously held a legal policy role at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
