Mark is a member of the firm's disputes practice, based in Singapore. He specialises in complex cross-border disputes and international arbitration. Mark has advised governments and commercial entities on issues in the energy, power, infrastructure, commodities, construction, engineering, financial regulation, and hospitality sectors.
Mark has appeared before the Singapore courts and in international arbitration proceedings, as well as advised on institutional and ad hoc mediations.
Mark's experience includes advising:
a major investment fund in a LCIA arbitration concerning claims under a NEC3 contract for the design and construction of a data centre in Ireland
a government ministry in a suit before the Singapore High Court concerning the design and construction of marine barriers in Singapore
a BVI entity in a SIAC arbitration and SICC setting aside application concerning disputes over the sale of timbre concessions and supply of logs in Indonesia
a major South American pulp producer in derivative actions and injunctive proceedings before the Singapore High Court, with jurisdictional challenges referred to the Singapore Court of Appeal
a Cambodian developer in a SIAC arbitration against a Chinese contractor concerning claims under a FIDIC contract for the construction of a mixed-use development in Cambodia
Mark graduated from New York University with a Master of Laws, and the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws. He is qualified as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
