Mark assists clients including investment banks, financial institutions and multinational companies with complex, cross-border commercial litigation. He is able to manage large teams and has led investigations into employee misconduct.
Client focussed to deliver strong commercial outcomes, Mark is able to assimilate quickly, and to retain, large amounts of complex information and to produce reasoned and pragmatic commercial advice and analysis. He can grasp complex quantum calculations and is able to manage and lead individual lawyers on litigation processes, such as document review, witness interviews / management and the production of witness statements. He develops close relationships with clients, colleagues and outside advisors to form cohesive and effective teams to develop strategic, client-oriented solutions.
Mark's experience includes advising:
- Societe Generale on a US$1.5 billion claim by The Libyan Investment Authority in relation to a series of trades entered into between the two parties, in respect of which they now seek rescission and repayment of the premiums paid. The case involves claims of bribery and the making of intimidating threats
- a hedge fund on a complex commercial dispute with former employees
- a large international bank on employee misconduct
Mark holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of East Anglia and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Distinction).
