Marie Badr is an associate in the Energy and Infrastructure team in the Paris office. 

Marie advises clients on a wide range of cross-border mergers, acquisitions and corporate reorganisations in the energy, infrastructure and mining sectors with a focus on the EMEA region. Marie also has experience in international project finance, including acquisition finance and commodity financing.

Background

Marie is a solicitor qualified in England and Wales and a registered Foreign Legal Consultant (consultant juridique étranger) with the Paris Bar. She holds dual French and Lebanese nationality and is bilingual (French and English) with a good command of Arabic. 

Marie holds an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from the Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C. She also completed the Accelerated Legal Practice Course and the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP Law School, London, having previously graduated from the University of Warwick with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

  • a Japanese trading group on its internal multi-jurisdictional reorganisation
  • CII-PCL Holding K/S on the sale of 100% of the shares in BWSC Power Corporation Limited (a JV company owned by CIP and BWSC) which owns and operates two operational biomass power plants in the UK (40.8MW and 44.9MW)
  • a confidential Nigerian independent oil and gas company on its bid to acquire from Shell 100% of the share capital in Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) which holds a 30% participatory interest in the Nigerian unincorporated joint venture with Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation and Nigerian AGIP Oil Company (various oil mining licences and two export terminals) 
  • Chargeurs Museum Solutions, French and international leader in museum technologies, on the acquisition of 100% of the capital of Event Communications Ltd in the UK
  • a confidential client in respect of its proposed acquisition of upstream oil and gas assets in Timor-Leste.
