Experience

Lucinda has advised companies involved in complex and high value construction disputes across a variety of industries and jurisdictions. She has experience in international arbitration and adjudication.

Lucinda has acted for employers and contractors across various industries and sectors, including infrastructure and energy. Her experience includes acting for clients involved in disputes pertaining to extensions of time, defective works and variations. Lucinda has acted in arbitrations under the rules of the LCIA, SIAC and ICC.

Lucinda’s experience includes advising:

  • an investor into PFI projects on the applicability of specific provisions of a PFI contract in the context of COVID-19
  • a Spanish Contractor in an LCIA Arbitration regarding an African electricity company's failure to pay invoices, and subsequent termination of the construction contract
  • a UK based transport operator in a statutory adjudication for extension of time claim against the Contractor
  • a Contractor at pre-action stage prior to a potential dispute with an energy provider in relation to an oral variation, but unexecuted Deed of Amendment
  • an energy provider in a claim against the Pakistani government regarding unpaid invoices
  • an Indian services provider in an arbitration against an Indian microfinance bank regarding early termination and unpaid invoices

 

Background

Lucinda holds a First Class Bachelor of Arts (Geography) from Durham University and was also the recipient of a research scholarship and a prize for academic excellence during her degree. She has since completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course (obtaining distinctions in both), and qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2020.
