Kerrie is a Senior Associate in our Dispute Resolution team, specialising in commercial litigation.

Experience

Kerrie has experience across a range of commercial litigation, arbitration and advisory matters.  Her work ranges from complex contractual disputes, shareholder and joint venture disputes and professional negligence claims to high-value environmental and banking class actions, often involving a cross-jurisdictional element.  She advises UK and international clients across various sectors, including the telecommunications, professional services, travel and leisure and financial services sectors.  

Kerrie has completed a six-month secondment in the firm's Hong Kong Dispute Resolution practice and an eight-month secondment in the in-house Litigation team of The Royal Bank of Scotland, where she worked on a number of extremely high profile litigation and regulatory matters.

Kerrie's experience includes advising:

  • a Michelin-starred chef in defence of claims for breach of a joint venture agreement providing for the international expansion of a well-known restaurant brand
  • an African mining company, owned by an Australian resources company, in defending a class action brought by local landowners in relation to alleged damage caused to the land by its mining operations
  • a multinational telecommunication services company in relation to numerous breaches by a supplier of a master services agreement providing for the design and implementation of a new digital stack, in connection with its businesses in a number of jurisdictions
  • a "big four" accountancy firm in defending claims against it alleging negligent tax advice
  • The Royal Bank of Scotland in defending a class action brought by shareholder and investor groups following the near collapse and government bail-out of the bank in October 2008 – one of the highest profile pieces of litigation in the UK in recent years

 

 

 

Background

Kerrie holds a BA in French and German from the University of Oxford.  She completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School, London, and her training contract at Herbert Smith Freehills.  She qualified as  Solicitor Advocate in 2015.
