Joshua specialises in international arbitration and cross-border disputes.



Joshua specialises in managing and resolving complex cross-border disputes. He acts for clients in international arbitration proceedings and advises them on dispute avoidance strategies.  
Joshua has acted for clients in a variety of disputes, including corporate, contractual, shareholder, joint venture and employment disputes as well as in criminal and insolvency proceedings.
Joshua's experience includes: 
  • defending former shareholders and directors in multiple civil proceedings in the Singapore courts against claims of breaches of fiduciary duties and fraudulent trading valued at US$4.6 billion 
  • successfully defending a former CEO of claims of approximately US$15 million for breaches of fiduciary duties in the Singapore International Commercial Court and the Court of Appeal 
  • advising a multinational company on potential SIAC arbitration and court proceedings in relation to a Myanmar joint venture
  • acting for shareholders of Singapore retail giant Mohamed Mustafa & Samsuddin Co Pte. Ltd in minority oppression claims in the Singapore High Court


Joshua graduated from the National University of Singapore with a first class bachelor's degree and New York University with a master's degree in international legal studies. He is admitted to the Singapore bar. Joshua speaks English and Mandarin Chinese.
