Jessica advises clients on a range of employment and industrial relations matters.

Jessica's practice is focused on employment and industrial relations litigation matters including bargaining and union disputes, unfair dismissals, breach of General Protections and discrimination claims.​

Jessica has advised and appeared in matters before the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court, in addition to a number of state industrial and administrative tribunals.  She also regularly advises clients in relation to the employee relations implications of operational restructures, outsourcings and acquisitions (including transfer of business implications).

In 2017, Jessica competed in the New South Wales Law Society’s Golden Gavel public speaking competition.

She was also a finalist in the Workplace Relations Employment and Safety category of the Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30 Awards in 2018.

Background

Jessica holds a Bachelor of Economic and Social Sciences from the University of Sydney and a Juris Doctor from the University of New South Wales.

Experience & expertise

Selected matters

  • advising global mining organisations on collective bargaining programs in Australia, including matters relating to union right of entry and both protected and unprotected industrial action
  • advising a transport provider in relation to the transition of employees from state public sector employment to the private sector
  • partnering with a large airline to develop its enterprise bargaining strategy in a very complex negotiating environment, which ultimately led to the approval of the relevant agreement
  • working with a number of ASX listed companies in relation to award and enterprise agreement compliance and the underpayments of employees
  • ​advising companies regarding performance, disciplinary and dismissal matters, including in respect of redundancy, notice of termination and unfair dismissal
  • ​undertaking and advising in relation to complex workplace investigations including those dealing with sexual harassment, discrimination and allegations of bullying
