Jennifer has a corporate practice encompassing mergers and acquisitions and capital markets with an energy and resources focus.

Jennifer's experience includes advising: 

  • establishment of CleanCo – advising government of State of Queensland in establishment of new state-owned clean energy corporation, transfer of generating plants and negotiation of transitional arrangements
  • acquisition of Bald Hills Wind Farm – advising private equity buyer on acquisition of 105MW wind farm in Victoria
  • Murra Warra Wind, Solar and Storage Projects – advising RES Australia on its joint venture with Macquarie Bank in connection with the ownership and development of the 429MW wind, solar and storage project in Victoria
  • acquisition of Kiata Wind Farm – advising on acquisition and shareholder agreements on behalf of John Laing Investments Limited in its acquisition of 70% interest in 30MW wind farm in Victoria
  • development and financing of Dundonnell Wind Farm – advising Tilt Renewables on the development and financing of 336MW wind farm in Victoria

  • acquisition of Active Stream metering business – advising Ausgrid in acquisition of Active Stream metering business from AGL
  • bid for Bulacan bulk water project – prepared and negotiated consortium documents in connection with bid for 30-year bulk water treatment and supply concession to be granted by the Philippines Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System
  • acquisition of TransGrid – project-managing all aspects of equity funding for 5-member international bidder consortium in connection with successful $10B infrastructure acquisition from New South Wales government

 

Background

Jennifer has been a member of the Corporate Group since 2002.  Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, she worked for the Los Angeles law firm of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher, LLP, where her practice included securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and venture capital financing, as well as general corporate advice.   

Jennifer completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1990.  She earned her Juris Doctorate at the University of California at Los Angeles in 1997, graduating first in her law school class.  She is also admitted to practice in California.
