Giulia Maienza


Giulia advises on contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters.



Giulia assists clients in relation to the exploitation and protection of valuable IP assets patents, including in relation to patent enforcement and protection, trademarks, design, copyright, trade secrets, privacy, unfair competition and product liability.  She is also an accomplished IP litigator, with increasing expertise with the representation and defence of clients in contentious IP-led cases or matters involving IP assets. Giulia also acts as coordinating counsel in multi-jurisdictional due diligence exercises.

Giulia advises on IP aspects of corporate transactions as well as providing strategic advice concerning misleading advertising, unfair competition, privacy policies, data protection and cybersecurity and regulatory cases involving product recall/liability. She assists the team in relation to all commercial arrangements for IP assets, such as licensing and distribution contracts, technology transfer agreements, IP assets assignment agreements and co-existence agreements, developing a 360° vision of intellectual property cases. 

Giulia completed her training with the firm, which has seen her work in a number of sectors from industry, consumer goods, fashion and food through to TMT. She has acquired expertise in advising on a broad range of contentious and non/contentious cases, which has allowed her to gain important experience relating to the protection of national and European designs and models and also advisory work on patent and trade mark portfolios. Giulia is also included in complex pan-European patent litigation cases.

She is a prime example of the firm's investment in people.

Giulia's experience includes: 

  • assisting a worldwide consumer electronics manufacturing company in relation to design infringement cases 
  • advising on legal requirements for advertising and labelling tobacco products
  • assisting a global manufacturer of valves in relation to the protection and enforcement of its IP rights worldwide
  • assisting an online search engine in relation to cybersecurity 
  • assisting a virtual reality developer on a patent infringement case






Giulia graduated in law from the University of Milan, Italy after studying in both Spain and Beijing.  Her native language is Italian and she is fluent in English and Spanish.
