Since 2007 George has been a consultant in the corporate section of our firm, where he has contributed to the revision of Schemes, Takeovers and Himalayan Peaks by Damian & Rich, Takeovers Law and Strategy, by Levy and to Towns Under Siege, edited by Damian & James.
Background
George was a lawyer with the NCSC from 1986 until 1990, and General Counsel of the ASC from 1991 until 2000, mostly working in takeovers, prescribed interests and administrative law.
He was seconded to the Corporate Law Simplification Unit between 1993 and 1996, consulting on the revision of the chapters of the Corporations Law dealing with takeovers, prospectuses and debentures.
From 2001 until 2005 he was Counsel of the Takeovers Panel.
