Elinor is an associate in our Dispute Resolution practice with a focus on insurance and ESG matters.

Elinor advises on a range of insurance coverage disputes. In particular, she assists policyholders across a range of sectors in relation to contentious insurance claims and has specific expertise in construction, energy and liability claims. Elinor also advises clients in relation to non-contentious aspects of insurance including reviewing policy wordings.

Elinor works closely with our global ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) team and has a particular interest in climate change related matters and the role of insurance in this field, including the risk management of ESG risks such as biodiversity, climate change, the energy transition, corporate governance, and business and human rights. Elinor is also qualified as a facilitator for Climate Fresk, an NGO-created training workshop focusing on the science of climate change which she facilitates at Herbert Smith Freehills. 

Background

Elinor was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2021 and is based in our London office. She has spent six months on secondment to an insurance broker.

Elinor achieved a first-class degree in French and Russian at Exeter University.
