Ed is the Chief New Business and Enterprise Risk Officer at Herbert Smith Freehills. He has over 20 years’ experience across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, US, UK and Europe, specialising in risk management, conflicts of interest, financial crime, professional ethics and strategy.
Ed has held key global leadership roles in a number of international law firms in both Australia and the UK.
Ed is known for consistently driving a risk-management approach that brings value to decision-making, and for the development and implementation of strategy in global law firms.
Ed leads multiple teams in New Business Intake and Enterprise Risk, which together enable rapid global commercial, reputational and regulatory decision-making on matter and client intake which is aligned to the firm’s market and client strategy. He is motivated by building diverse, resilient, collaborative and high-performing teams which have an absolute focus on clients, the firm and its people.
