Experience

Dorothy brings clients in the financial sector a unique combination of skills with her background in financial and banking law and her in-depth knowledge of EU law, including competition law.

Through her work as a leader of Herbert Smith Freehills’ BREXIT focus group, Dorothy delivers solutions for clients to resolve adverse consequences from the UK's possible exit from the EU.

Dorothy is the chairman of the Financial Law Committee of the City of London Law Society (CLLS) and represents it on the Treasury Banking Liaison Panel which considers important subsidiary legislation and the Code of Practice under the Banking Act 2009 related to the Special Resolution Regime for failing banks.

Background

Dorothy holds a degree in jurispudence and qualified as a solicitor 1972. She was a partner at the firm from 1980–2008.
