Deanna’s practice spans all aspects of the employment relationship, including enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, employment litigation, equal opportunity and discrimination, bullying, termination of employment, workplace investigations and regulatory support.
Deanna has broad experience across a range of sectors, including aviation, retail and resources.
Deanna is recognised for being easy to work with, with recent client feedback acknowledging that Deanna was ‘fantastic’, and can distil complex legal information in a friendly manner, taking into account the client’s level of knowledge of the situation.
Deanna is adept at grasping the complex workings and needs of individual businesses having worked on secondment and in-house with some of Australia’s largest employers.
Deanna’s experience includes:
- Providing advice to a range of employers, across industries, on employment rights and conditions under enterprise agreements, modern awards, contracts of employment, the Fair Work Act and other legislation
- Preparing and running an urgent good faith bargaining application, seeking bargaining orders to stop obstructive picketing that was occurring at a client’s manufacturing site
- Assisting a retail client in having their enterprise agreement approved by the Fair Work Commission after it was subject to significant scrutiny from the Fair Work Commission and substantial pressures from multiple employee representatives
Deanna holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of International Relations from The University of Melbourne.
She is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria, and the High Court of Australia.
