Courtney is experienced in advising clients on complex commercial disputes in both Australia and the United Kingdom across a wide range of industries. She has experience in investigations, litigation, mediation and arbitration, and works on high-profile international and domestic matters.
Before commencing with Herbert Smith Freehills, Courtney worked as a lawyer in Magic Circle firms in London where she advised clients, particularly in the TMT and financial services sectors, on a range of large commercial disputes.
Prior to her practice in London, Courtney trained with Allens and practised in the Disputes and Investigations team in Melbourne, with a particular focus on regulatory dispute resolution.
Courtney is admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Courtney holds a Master of Laws (First) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Courtney also holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts (with a major in History) from the University of Melbourne.
