Claudio has extensive experience in the insurance sector, particularly in corporate transactions and contractual matters (M&A, portfolio assignments, distribution agreements …) and connected regulatory aspects, as well as relationships with the supervisory authorities in both Europe and Latin America.
A recent addition to the firm, until May 2021 Claudio was Head of the Legal Department at Grupo Mapfre, one of Spain's largest insurance groups, with a huge international presence.
Claudio has led or been an active participant in sophisticated transactions, including cross-border mergers, branching, demutualisations, the conversion of insurance companies into insurance underwriting agencies, etc., each entailing complex contractual, corporate and regulatory aspects.
Background
While in Grupo Mapfre, Claudio served as Head of the group's International Legal Department; secretary and member of the Board of Mapfre International, as well as a member of the Boards of Mapfre RE, Mapfre Brasil, Mapfre Portugal and Mapfre USA.
