Celine Wang

Celine represents companies and state owned entities in disputes in the oil and gas, construction and infrastructure, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and shipping sectors.  She has advised clients regarding a wide range of commercial law issues in international arbitration under various institutional rules.  Celine has worked in the HSF London, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Shanghai offices, and has extensive knowledge about dispute resolution concerning China-related commercial contracts.

Celine focuses on delivering practical legal solutions, with good understanding of legal and culture differences among Chinese companies, Japanese companies and international companies. 

Celine's experience includes advising:

• a major PRC state-owned oil and gas company in a highly complex SIAC arbitration in relation to a joint investment in offshore oil and gas assets
• a leading German manufacture in CIETAC arbitration against a major Chinese company concerning licensing arrangements of air-conditioning systems for high speed trains
• a leading Korean engine manufacturer in a CIETAC arbitration brought by a Chinese shipbuilding company on claims arising from a maritime diesel main engine
• a Japanese subsidiary of a major European pharmaceutical company engaged in ICC proceedings concerning the termination of a co-promotion agreement
• a subsidiary of a PRC state owned corporation on defending claims brought by a European company for breach of a confidentiality agreement.  The arbitration was under SIAC (Singapore International Arbitration Centre) rules and concerned the alleged use of the European company's proprietary information in the construction of an engineering project in mainland China

Background

Celine graduated from Fudan University School of Law. She was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2012 and is also qualified in the PRC. She speaks Mandarin, English and basic Japanese.
