Bowen Fox


Bowen is a litigator in Herbert Smith Freehills’ disputes team focusing on major commercial disputes including class actions.



Bowen is a litigator with experience acting in disputes requiring major legal firepower, with high financial and reputational exposure.  In the class actions space, Bowen focuses on helping large corporations respond to shareholder and investor claims, including where parallel overseas or regulatory litigation may be pending.  In the insolvency context, he has acted for both creditors and debtors in contentious and sensitive non-contentious contexts.  Bowen has also acted for and against entities involved in litigation funding arrangements.

Bowen's experience includes:

  • advising a large ASX listed company on defence of a shareholder class action involving substantial parallel overseas litigation and regulatory enforcement
  • acting for a state government agency in relation to a multibillion dollar insolvency, including defending individuals from examination in the Federal Court
  • advising an Australian bank in response to the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry in matters involving significant reputational risk
  • assisting an insolvent ASX listed company pursue former directors for breach of duties


Bowen holds a Bachelor of Laws (first class honours) and a Bachelor of International and Global Studies from the University of Sydney.
