Anuradha is an Of Counsel based in London, specialising in International Arbitration. 

Anuradha has acted for clients in arbitrations in a number of jurisdictions, both in ad hoc as well as institutional arbitrations including under the auspices of the LCIA, SIAC and the ICC.

Anuradha has extensive experience in international arbitration and represents clients in high-value, complex disputes, including those arising out of shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements and large construction projects. Anuradha has a focus on servicing Indian clients in international disputes and international clients in India-related disputes.

Anuradha has been ranked in Chambers & Partners 2022 - Up and Coming, Dispute Resolution, Bengaluru-based, was recognised as one of ALB India’s 50 Rising Stars in 2021 and was shortlisted for the Women in Business Law Asia Awards 2020 (supported by IFLR) for Women in Litigation (Rising Stars).

Background

Before relocating to London, Anuradha was a Partner at a leading law firm in India, specialising in commercial dispute resolution.  Anuradha is dual qualified, admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an advocate in India. Anuradha's languages include English, Hindi, Marathi and Kannada.

Anuradha graduated from the National Academy of Legal Studies And Research, Hyderabad with B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)

  • a Middle Eastern energy company (through its Indian subsidiary) in a dispute arising out of its investment in a hydropower project in India against the sellers involving: (i) Singapore seated SIAC arbitrations; (ii) enforcement of foreign award(s) in India; (iii) insolvency proceedings involving the question of whether an unenforced foreign award can form the basis of a debt in India; (iii) challenge proceedings in Singapore; (iv) joinder of a third party under the SIAC Rules; (iv) Supreme Court proceedings testing the principle of whether enforcement of a foreign award can be considered in parallel proceedings before different High Courts*
  • a South-east Asian electricity company in Singapore seated arbitrations arising out of its exit from the energy business of a large Indian conglomerate, also involving an emergency arbitration*
  • a global cable-manufacturing group in a London seated LCIA arbitration arising out of a shareholders' dispute with its joint venture partner in India*
  • a consumer healthcare company in a Mumbai seated arbitration in relation to claims by a private equity investor, initiated pursuant to a landmark Indian Supreme Court decision on whether insolvency matters can be referred to arbitration*
  • three private equity funds in a Singapore seated SIAC arbitration in relation to disputes arising out of a share purchase agreement involving questions of rescission*
