Anne has acted for clients in numerous sectors and jurisdictions, including banking, technology and energy & resources in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America, with a particular focus on financial services. Anne has significant experience in court proceedings and investigations in Australia and England and has spent some time on secondment to the litigation department of two major Australian financial institutions.
She has significant international arbitration experience, having represented corporations and states in a variety of commercial and treaty arbitrations, including under the rules of the LCIA, ICC and UNCITRAL, and governed by a variety of governing laws (both common and civil law). Anne has acted as Tribunal Secretary to arbitral tribunals appointed under LCIA, ICC, DIAC and CAS rules.
Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Anne has worked in the international arbitration group of a leading law firm in London and Paris.
Anne holds law degrees from the University of Freiburg, Germany, Cornell University, USA and the College of Law, UK.
Anne speaks English, German and some French. She is admitted to practise in England & Wales, New York and New South Wales. Anne is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the rules committee of ACICA.
