Anna was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand in 2014 and began her litigation career at a leading commercial law firm. She has experience advising clients in a variety of disputes, including in insurance law, administrative law, company law, contested estate law and professional negligence. Anna also has experience in regulatory and independent investigations.
Anna has appeared as counsel before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of New Zealand.
Anna also worked at a large international firm in London before joining HSF’s Melbourne disputes team.
Anna has a broad experience base in commercial disputes and has a particular focus on delivering outcomes that suit the commercial and pragmatic needs of clients. Her experience in representing both individual and corporate claimants in insurance claims following the aftermath of the Canterbury earthquake sequence of 2010-2011 clarified the need to respond holistically to clients’ issues.
Anna’s experience includes:
- acting for insured claimants against insurers in the Supreme Court of New Zealand in a test case involving the issue of whether settlements of insurance claims made “fully and finally” can be set aside
- defending a company’s executive director in financial crime prosecution following the company’s billion dollar collapse
- involvement in the independent review of significant IT failures at a major UK financial institution
Anna is admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the High Court of New Zealand and as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Victoria. Anna holds a LLB (First Class Hons) and a BA from the University of Canterbury, and graduated with the Gold Medal in Law.
She also holds an LLM (First) from the University of Cambridge and is a Trinity College Senior Scholar.
