Almudena is a junior associate in the litigation, ADR and arbitration practice in the Madrid office.

She advises both Spanish and foreign companies on the resolution of international disputes in a wide range of sectors, mainly insurance disputes.

Background

She has a law degree from Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, and also studied at Zurich University (UZH Switzerland). She holds a dual master's degree in Law and International advocacy from ISDE and Universidad Carlos III. Before joining the firm, Almudena completed a number of internships at other law firms.

She speaks Spanish and English.

Selected matters

  • an international investment company and one of its founders on legal advice and defence, as co-counsels, in a judicial investigation for allegedly committed crimes related to the purchase of a Spanish TMT/media company before the national Court
  • a Spanish financial entity on recurring court proceedings related to the misselling of banking products marketed by the entity and one of its subsidiaries. On the other hand, we are defending the client on several litigation claims related to the commercialization of financial instruments (SWAPS, IRS, Structured Notes, Preference Shares, etc.). It is a global agreement signed with the financial entity for its recurrent defence of these types of matter
  • a Chinese engineering company, as EPC contractor, on the development of photovoltaic projects in Puerto Real and Cádiz, Spain, promoted by Fenix Renovables
  • a pellet production mill designer and supplier, on its defence, in the arbitration proceedings brought before the Chamber of Arbitration in Milan, in relation to alleged defective design, LD's and loss of profits in the design, erection and commissioning of a pellets production plant together with a co-generation unit in the Southern of Italy
