Based in Sydney, Alec has been involved in a large number of complex corporate disputes involving compliance, class actions, director’s duties, insolvency, and shareholder’s rights. Alec has also acted in several construction, infrastructure, and real property disputes.
Alec’s experience includes:
- Advising a large publicly listed company on the defence of a class action bought by a class of shareholders in the Federal Court.
- Acting for a director/shareholder in an intercompany dispute, successfully setting aside a creditor’s statutory demand and settling the substantive proceedings on favourable terms.
- Acting for a the majority shareholder in a private developer regarding a complex shareholder litigation.
- Acting in the Supreme Court of New South Wales for a large builder regarding a construction dispute over a development in Bondi.
Alec holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Technology, Sydney, and Bachelor of Socio-Legal Studies from Sydney University. He also has a Graduate Diploma from the Australian National University, and is admitted to practice in New South Wales.
