Having originally joined Herbert Smith Freehills' Belfast office as a Team Leader in 2011, Alan now maintains overall responsibility for the strategic management of Alternative Legal Services' Disputes practice in the UK, US & EMEA region.
Alan leads an experienced team of qualified lawyers, legal analysts and eDiscovery specialists, based across Belfast, Johannesburg and London, in the delivery of an innovative, end-to-end service for clients. He also works closely with our Business Services teams to develop innovative pricing models and contribute to business development.
Alan regularly presents to the financial services sector on developments in legal technology such as predictive coding, and considers it a primary strategic objective to keep abreast of advances in the industry in order to develop innovative products, realise efficiencies and ensure quality for clients.
Alan leads the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee in the firm's Belfast office, overseeing initiatives such as 'Towering Tales': a creative writing competition which was organised in association with the National Trust, Young at Art and Arts & Business Northern Ireland.
Alan holds a degree in Law and Accounting from Queen's University Belfast.
