Agathe Esch has extensive experience in antitrust and merger control issues. She has represented French and international clients in antitrust, mergers and state aid proceedings before the European and French competition authorities and courts.
Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Agathe worked in several law firms in Paris and in Brussels.
Agathe has advised:
- a leading player in the travel retail sector before the Icelandic Competition Authority on a preliminary inquiry regarding the award of the operation of specialty retail and food and beverage concessions
- the French subsidiary of one of the top 10 car manufacturers in the world on assessing the compliance of its business practices with EU and French competition law
- Altran Technologies on the notification to the European Commission and other jurisdictions of the €4.8 billion friendly takeover by Capgemini, which is the most significant cash takeover of the last 10 years
- a leading global group in engineering services and technology consulting in relation to an ongoing investigation by the French Competition Authority
Agathe graduated from the University Paris 2-Panthéon-Assas where she obtained a Master in European Law. She also holds a LL.M degree in commercial law from the University of Rotterdam.
