Following an extensive review process conducted by the International Project Finance Association ("IPFA"), Dubai-based Projects and Finance Senior Associate Phil Hanson has been appointed to IPFA's Middle East Branch Council as the Future Leaders Network ("FLN") representative.

Phil will be assisting IPFA in raising its profile in the market and encouraging participation from the next generation of future leaders in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Phil Hanson commented:

"I am delighted to have been appointed as IPFA's FLN representative and to have been invited to sit on their Middle East Branch Council.  The Middle East is currently producing some of the most exciting opportunities in the energy and infrastructure sectors in the global market, with the region leading the way in both terms of size and tariff-rates within the renewables sector.  I hope to contribute towards IPFA's role in the Middle East projects market."

IPFA is an independent, not-for-profit, professional members association dedicated to promoting and representing the interests of both public and private sector organisations involved in project finance and Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) worldwide.  It has as its members the key players within the infrastructure and energy industry, including financial institutions, project sponsors, construction companies and operators active in PPP and project finance markets globally.

Anthony Ellis, Partner and Head of Middle East Projects and Finance, commented:

"I am extremely happy for both Phil and IPFA.  I am confident that Phil's enthusiasm and Projects experience will assist IPFA in achieving their objectives as well as strengthening our relationships with clients operating in the region.  This is also a fantastic achievement as it clearly demonstrates the depth of market knowledge our lawyers in the Middle East have within the Projects sector."
