After 10 years on the ground in Seoul, our international Korea practice has grown significantly.

We have built a respected roster of Korean public, private, energy and financial sector clients for whom the firm has acted on important cross-border transactions and disputes. 

Given the exclusively international nature of our work, we have determined that our clients' interests are now best served by a new approach.

As a result, we have established a group with deep Korea expertise drawn from across the firm's network, and will wind down our physical presence in Seoul this year.

The new Korea Group will be led by current Seoul partners Mike McClure, who will relocate to London, and Dana Kim, who will relocate to Hong Kong. The Group, whose members will visit Seoul as required by clients and matters, draws on deep expertise across our international network, including global and Asia energy leaders Lewis McDonald in London and Hilary Lau in Hong Kong.

Our existing and new Korean clients will continue to receive high-quality legal service through this new model of service, and we look forward to maintaining strong local firm relationships.

While some of our staff in Seoul will relocate to other network offices, we thank those leaving the firm for their enormous contribution and wish them well.

HSF의 Korea Practice는 서울사무소를 개소하고 10년동안 지속적으로 성장해왔습니다.

공공, 민간, 에너지, 그리고 금융부문등에서 한국 고객에게 주요한 국제거래 및 국제분쟁해결에 관한 자문을 제공하여 왔습니다.

모든 업무가 국제업무임을 감안할 때, 새로운 접근방식을 취하는것이 고객의 이익을 더욱 잘 대변할 수 있다고 판단했습니다. 

그 결과, HSF의 글로벌 네트워크를 통해  한국에 대한 전문지식을 갖춘 Korea Group을 설립하고,  서울사무소는 단계적으로 철수하기로 하였습니다.   

새로운 Korea Group은 현재 서울 파트너인 Mike McClure와 Dana Kim이 각각 런던과 홍콩으로 이동하여 이끌게 됩니다.  고객 및 사안의 니즈에 따라 Korea Group구성원들이 서울을 방문할 것이며, 런던의 글로벌 에너지 팀장인 Lewis McDonald, 홍콩의 아시아 에너지 팀장인 Hilary Lau를 포함하여, 글로벌 네트워크 전반의 전문인력이 한국 고객에게 서비스를 제공할 것입니다. 

새로운 서비스 모델을 통해 지속적으로 기존 및 신규 한국 고객에게 양질의 법률 서비스를 제공할 것이며, 한국 로펌과는 밀접한 협력관계를 유지할 수 있기를 기대합니다.

서울사무소 직원들 중 일부는 다른 네트워크 사무실로 이동하게 되지만, 떠나는 직원들에게는 그동안의 공헌에 감사드립니다.
