Sue Gilchrist, Regional Managing Partner, Asia and Australia said: “The 2017 Australian Law Awards showcased the finest legal talent Australia has to offer, and we are proud that two of our people and two of our leading teams were recognised as being the best in the country. These accolades would not have been possible without the support of our clients, who work with us on their most important matters.”

“Our Dispute Resolution team’s win reflects that we act for our clients on major strategic litigation and regulatory matters.”

“Herbert Smith Freehills’ Energy and Resources team was recognised as the country’s best due to its market-leading client work.”

Rebecca Maslen-Stannage, a partner in the firm’s corporate practice, won the Dealmaker of the Year award for her role advising on the most prominent deals in M&A and equity capital markets.

Secretary Debbie Harding took home the award for Legal Support Professional of the Year thanks to her contributions to the Finance, Real Estate and Projects Practice, a strong indication of the valuable contribution the firm’s support staff make.

“Rebecca and Debbie are proof that one of the firm’s most important strengths is our people. Their awards reflect the dedication and commitment our legal professionals and support staff show to ensuring we continue to provide exceptional service to our clients,” Ms Gilchrist said.
