Herbert Smith Freehills has been named the winner of Morgan Stanley's first ever Asia Pacific Outside Counsel Diversity Award.

Herbert Smith Freehills received the award on 8 June at a reception hosted by Eric Grossman, Morgan Stanley's Chief Legal Officer, at their Hong Kong office.

"Herbert Smith Freehills is honoured to receive this award – the first time it has been given in Asia Pacific – from a valued and respected client," said Justin D'Agostino, the firm's Managing Partner for Asia and Australia. “Our team has worked hard to ensure that we have an inclusive workplace across the Asia Pacific and I am pleased that our trail blazing approach is being recognised this way.

"Morgan Stanley is not only a longstanding client of the firm but is also an exceptional partner in the advancement of diversity and inclusion. These values are embedded in our culture and we're proud to receive this award from a client that lives and breathes similar beliefs."

The Awards involved an in-depth survey and interview process managed by Morgan Stanley’s Asia Pacific Legal & Compliance Division. The results are based on a diversity and inclusion scorecard that is used to rate law firms on the extent to which firms promote diversity in their own workplaces and throughout their communities.
