Amanda Teoh, a senior associate in Singapore with leading international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills, has been named an Airfinance Journal rising star for 2021, one of only six law-firm associates to make the list worldwide.

Amanda is building an impressive aviation practice. She works for lessors, airlines and lenders on a variety of aviation-finance matters including acquisition, disposal and leasing of fleets, as well as airline insolvency-related issues. Her expertise spans multiple jurisdictions in Asia and she has advised key aviation players such as Crédit Agricole CIB, BNP Paribas, AerCap, Singapore Airlines Group and Air Asia Group, amongst others.

"We are extremely proud of Amanda for this very well-deserved achievement," said Siva Subramaniam, head of the Asset Finance team in Singapore, "and we have no doubt that she will be a leading practitioner in the aviation sector in the years ahead."

In addition to her client work, Amanda helps lead the firm's pro bono practice in Asia and sits on the firm’s Asia diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility committees.

Originally from Australia, Amanda is qualified to practice law in England and Wales as well as New South Wales and New Zealand. She graduated with a first-class honours degree in arts and law from the University of New South Wales.
