New York partner Amal Bouchenaki was honored as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion— in the Law Firm category at this year’s Women, Influence and Power in Law Awards, hosted by Corporate Counsel.
These awards honor general counsel, in-house leaders and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law.
As the D&I partner in New York, Amal has re-established the Diversity and Inclusion Committee in the New York office. Within that committee she works collaboratively and closely with a group of engaged professionals to drive initiatives in specific areas. In her role as Diversity Co-Lead, Amal is responsible for developing and delivering the firm’s global Diversity and Inclusion strategy in New York, including a focus on Mental Health.
Amal has not only helped drive D&I in the NY office, teaming up with dedicated D&I Committee members, but is also active and engaged in our global D&I efforts. In this capacity, she worked closely with the Global Diversity and Inclusion team on the implementation of the global strategy.
Amal Bouchenaki said: “Being named a DEI Champion by Corporate Counsel is the recognition of a team effort in the New York office around issues of DEI, and of our accomplishments so far. It also inspires me to work with all colleagues in New York to improve on where we are with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as an office, and to continue to collaborate with my D&I colleagues across the firm to help drive forward this crucial work.”
