Herbert Smith Freehills today announced the promotion of 49 Australian lawyers to the role of senior associate.

Effective from 1 July 2020, the promotions include lawyers from the firm’s Competition, Regulation & Trade; Corporate; Disputes; Employment, Industrial Relations and Safety; and Finance, Real Estate & Projects practices, as well as the firm’s Digital Law Group.

Herbert Smith Freehills’ Australian Executive Partner, Andrew Pike said: “At Herbert Smith Freehills we take great pride in developing our people and providing them with exceptional opportunities to progress in their careers. In these challenging times, we believe that it’s just as important as ever to recognise and reward the hard work and growth of our talented people.

“I’d like to congratulate these lawyers on reaching this milestone in their careers. These promotions are a testament to their significant legal and commercial expertise, their strong commitment to clients, and their positive contribution to colleagues and the firm.

“I look forward to watching them step up in their new roles as they continue to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients and the firm.”

More than 50 per cent of the 49 new senior associates are women, reflecting Herbert Smith Freehills’ on-going focus on diversity and inclusion, and its commitment to attracting, promoting and retaining top female talent.
