Herbert Smith Freehills was named Corporate Law Firm of the Year and shortlisted for Finance Firm of the Year and PPP Firm of the Year at the Chambers Russia Awards 2019 ceremony held in Moscow on 28 May 2019.
A good way to mark the 20th anniversary of our office in Russia.
Chambers Russia Awards is the highest level legal award, which celebrates the most impressive legal performances by law firms in the Russian market over the last year. The nominated firms have been selected for their outstanding work, strategic growth and excellence in client service.
Alexei Roudiak, Managing partner for Russia, Head of Corporate for EMEA, has commented: "It is incredibly satisfying to know that this year the Moscow office was shortlisted in three out of five categories by Chambers Russian Awards 2019 and has taken home the first prize for Corporate Firm of the Year. The nominations and the award demonstrate our team's leading performance and achievements in all three practice areas in what has been a turbulent and challenging market."
Oleg Konnov adds: "It's a real honour for us to be recognised for work in such a competitive practice area as Corporate and M&A. I would like to thank the whole team for their hard work, exceptional commitment and client-oriented approach."
It has been a very successful year for the Russian corporate practice, which has earlier won a number of accolades, including:
- European Corporate Deal of the Year (Bonum / Vozrozhdenie Bank deal) – The Lawyer European Awards 2019
- Best Corporate Law Firm in Russia – Best Lawyers 2019
