Herbert Smith Freehills is delighted to announce it has become one of the founding members of the Legal Diversity and Inclusion Alliance (LDIA), underscoring the firm's ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Launched to create a forum for law firms across Belgium to share best practice the LDIA's purpose is to drive change through shared commitment.

More than 200 attendees attended a launch event, including keynote speaker Bianca Debaets - Brussels state secretary for equal opportunities. She was joined by Peter Callens and Pierre Sculier, both serving presidents of the Brussel's Bars.

Kyriakos Fountoukakos, partner in Herbert Smith Freehills' Brussels Office, said: "The creation of the LDIA represents the first time Belgium has seen a cohesive approach to diversity within the legal profession and I am proud that Herbert Smith Freehills is a founder member.  Together with our partners, we look forward to promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives in the Brussels legal community".
