New York-based Herbert Smith Freehills partner Benjamin Rubinstein has been named to Benchmark Litigation's 2018 "40 & Under Hot List" for the second year in a row. The annual list recognizes lawyers, aged 40 or younger, who have been deemed the most accomplished emerging legal talent in their respective litigation communities across the United States and Canada by peers and clients.

Ben is a partner in the dispute resolution, product liability, class actions and commercial litigation practices. With almost fifteen years of experience defending individual, class action and governmental lawsuits both in the United States and abroad, Ben brings a valuable global expertise and perspective to his clients, having served as national and international coordinating counsel in litigations in the United States, Australia, Canada, Nigeria, Russia and South Korea, among other jurisdictions.

Much of Ben's practice focuses on product liability counselling and defense for companies and investors in various sectors facing pending or potential product liability regulatory or litigation exposure, including tobacco, food and beverage, medical devices, telecommunications and energy. He brings an in-depth understanding of multiple expert disciplines to his clients' litigation and regulatory challenges, having worked with experts in epidemiology, toxicology, psychology, health economics/econometrics, accounting and statistics – a great benefit to clients who face complex challenges that involve more than just legal expertise In addition, Ben has been collaborating with fellow partners across the Herbert Smith Freehills global network to advise clients on regulatory and litigation issues relating to climate change.
